Keywords\n imperfect ἔσκον, retrospective shift, suffix *-sk̂e/o-
Pages\n 244–258
Summary\n
The paper analyzes the use of the imperfect forms of the verb εἰμί in Homer’s poems. The results of the comparison show that in the majority of cases ἔσκον, in contrast to the non-suffixed imperfect ἦν, indicates a retrospective shift.
