The article deals with two obscure passages of Horace’s 13th Epode: amici … tu (v. 3-6) and parvi Scamandri (v. 13-14). In the former passage it is suggested to follow Borzsák’s text (rapiamus amici occasionem) with the interpretation “as two friends”, the poem being addressed to a servant-boy (cf. Carm. 1, 38); in the latter case the author shows preference for the scholia variant pravi which might mean here ‘perverse’ and describe the river-god.
