Summary\n
The present article discusses the poetics of A. Tarkovsky’s translation of the ode IV. 7 by Horace. Regarding the concept «equivalence» formulated in contemporary translation theory, the article considers such transformations as synonymic replacements in figurative ranks, addition of epithets, change of art time and their relation. The pervasive theme of time, youth, movement, and death-stupor receive new emphasis on the lexical and grammatical levels in the translation of А. Tarkovsky, however, translation techniques are not isolated from each other and are related by the principle of compensation, directly dependending on the system of artistic means.
