Summary\n
It is suggested in the paper that the term “priamel” (Russ. приамелла; cf. neo-lat. priamella) should be included in the Russian research lexis with the same definition as it has in modern textual criticism: a series of homogeneous examples supporting the main object. This technique is found in the Ancient poetry. It is significant for the composition of several odes by Horace (Carm. 1.1; 1.7). The poet uses priamel, and by this technique (unlike recusatio, or catalogue) creates a background to his ideas, at the same time displaying the variety of life. Thus, Horace avoids opposing his views against the others.
