The article deals with the analysis of the reasons for cautious attitude by classical philologists towards modern linguistic term-formation. The author has pointed out “quasi” latest problems (actually being discussed for ages) and paid attention to the directions in modern linguistics that can pave new ways for the examination of Greek and Latin texts.
