Summary\n
The present paper compares Vedic (R̥gveda-Saṃhitā, Atharva-Veda Saṃhitā, Śatapatha Brahmana, Āpastamba Dharmasūtra) and Sanskrit (Mahabharata, Raghuvamśa) contexts containing verbs and nouns derived from Sanskrit roots tard-, tarh- and star-. These three roots can be interpreted as having a common meaning of «a kind of harmful effect on an object». At least the first two of them could be analysed within the theory of Indo-European root extensions.
