Summary\n
The paper examines Ancient Greek verbs in -σκ- containing the element -ι- in the reduplication syllable or before the suffix (verbs in -ι- σκ-). The element -ι- in Greek reduplicated forms marks the present stem and is opposed to ε-reduplication, typical for aorist and perfect. It is argued that the character of the formation of secondary present stems in -σκ- allows to suggestfunctional similarity between the reduplication vowel -ι- and the element -ι- placed before the suffix in the sequence -ι-σκ-.
