Summary\n
The main task of this article is to show that while creating Argonautica Apollonius Rhodius had in mind not only Iliad and Odyssey, but Hesiod’s poems, too. There are not only lexical parallels with Theogonia, Works and days and Catalogue of women in Argonautica – Hesiod’s influence is obvious even in the structure of Apollonius’ poem. It implies that Apollonius being a disciple of Callimachus was not really his antagonist, because Hesiod’s didactic and genealogical poetry was involved into Alexandrian literary program.
